IBCA changes in leadership, district reps

 
 
 

Michael AdamsA number of changes have occurred over the past few months with leadership of the IBCA.

Michael Adams of Evansville Reitz is the organization’s new president, serving from Aug. 1, 2023, until July 31, 2026. Kaley MayKaley May of Danville is the new president-elect, serving the same term in that role. Craig Teagle, formerly of Huntington North and now at Bluffton, moves into the role of past president.

Kristi SiglerKristi Sigler of Jennings County moves into a position of IBCA assistant director. That position opened when Kathie Layden retired as a coach at Northwestern and resigned her position with the IBCA.

Six new district representatives are in their first year of three-year terms that conclude July 31, 2026. They are Jordan Heckard of LaPorte, Kelly Kratz of Merrillville, Rich Schelsky of Parke Heritage, Lisa Finn of Indianapolis Cathedral, Todd Woelfle of Terre Haute North and Kyle Brasher of Gibson Southern. They respectively succeed Marc Urban of Chesterton, Katie Collignon of Marquette Catholic, Bryce Rector of Greencastle, Kaley May of Danville, J.B. Neill of Bloomfield and Gretchen Miles of Washington; all their terms ended on July 31, 2023.

In addition, two district representatives are completing terms of former coaches who stepped down from their positions. Ryan Abbott of Carroll (Fort Wayne) takes a boys’ District 1 spot that had been filled by Jeremy Rauch, formerly of Fort Wayne Snider. Abbott’s term ends in July 2025. Also, Jovanny Gonzalez of Portage takes a girls’ District 1 spot that had been filled by Will Coatie, formerly the girls’ coach and now the boys’ coach at Elkhart. Gonzalez’s term ends in July 2024.

There are 10 returning district representatives in 2023-24. District reps whose terms end in July 2025 are Carrie Shappell of Leo, Mark Detweiler of Delta, Jeff Liddick of Eastbrook, Paul Ferguson of Columbus North and Jason Simpson of Greensburg. District reps whose terms end in July 2024 are Ryan Varga of South Bend Washington, Don Carlisle of Ben Davis, Debbie Smiley of Brownsburg, Mark Rohrer of Gibson Southern and Tyler Choate of Evansville North.
