IBCA/IHSAA summer individual & team events

Underclass Showcase events are set for June 12 (girls at Ben Davis) and June 27 (boys at Ben Davis). In addition, the third girls’ Summer Team Tournament is planned for June 13-14 at Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern and the sixth boys’ Summer Team Tournament is set for June 20-22 at Carmel and Westfield.

Returning for 2025: ‘Underclass Showcase’ events for boys and girls

The 23rd annual IBCA/IHSAA Underclass Showcase events (also known as “The Top 100”) are set for June 12 for girls and June 27 – both at Ben Davis (1200 N. Girls School Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46214). These are “individual events,” and players featured are rising seniors, juniors and sophomores for 2025-26.

The IBCA/IHSAA Girls’ Basketball Underclass Showcase is scheduled at Ben Davis High School on Thursday, June 12. The Girls’ Showcase will be held with all players in one session. Check-in will be at 12:30 p.m. The session will run until about 5:30 p.m.

The IBCA/IHSAA Boys’ Basketball Underclass Showcase is scheduled at Ben Davis High School on Friday, June 27. In a change for this year, the Boys’ Showcase also will be held with all players in one session. Check-in will be at 11:30 a.m. The session will run until about 4:45 p.m.

In 2024, 53 coaches from 46 colleges attended the Girls’ Top 100 Underclass Showcase and 73 coaches from 61 colleges attended the Boys’ Top 100 Underclass Showcase.

All IBCA coaches will be admitted free to both events by displaying a current IBCA membership card.

Lists of players expected to participate in these events should be released publicly about three weeks before each event.

Back again in 2025: ‘Summer Team Tournament’ for boys and girls

The IBCA/IHSAA again plans to host scholastic team events for boys’ teams and girls’ teams in 2025, again with administrative assistance from Charlie Hughes Basketball.

The third IBCA/IHSAA Girls’ Team Showcase is planned for June 13-14 with games at Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern. Most teams will play four games over two days (two games each day), although some teams may play just two games in one day only. In 2024, 95 teams participated in the Girls’ Team Showcase.

The sixth IBCA/IHSAA Boys’ Team Showcase in memory of Charlie Hughes will be June 20-21-22 with games at Carmel and Westfield. In 2024, 154 teams participated in the Boys’ Team Showcase.

In 2024, 59 coaches from 52 colleges attended the Girls’ Team Showcase and 129 coaches from 91 colleges attended the Boys’ Team Showcase in memory of Charlie Hughes.

Both events offer a low-cost housing option in dorms at Anderson University.

Team fees for each event are $350 for four games over two days or $210 for two games in one day only. Admission for fans is $10 per day for adults, $5 per day for students (ages 6 to 17) and free for children 5 and younger.

In 2024, the IBCA and Charlie Hughes Basketball donated $10,000 to the Riley Children’s Foundation.
