Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame report

As an IBCA member, we are asking for your support by becoming an annual member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame for 2018. The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame is the finest high school Hall of Fame in the world. This is possible because of the support of people who have lived Indiana high school basketball, including coaches such as you. Your involvement is important to us, as current high school coaches will be needed to step into leadership roles as the future guardians of the history of Indiana high school basketball.

Many interesting activities continue to take place at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame:

  • Many enjoyed getting together at our annual Citizens State Bank Hall of Fame Golf Classic at Pebble Brook in Noblesville, the Southern Indiana Golf Outing near Washington and the Hall of Fame Golf Outing in Kokomo.
  • The annual picnic featuring the 2017 Raymond James Hall of Fame Classic Staff and Coaches was held at Pebble Brook in Noblesville on September 6.
  • The Raymond James Hall of Fame Classic Basketball Tournament in New Castle will have eight outstanding teams competing for championships. The girls will play on December 29 and the boys on December 30.
  • The Men’s Induction Banquet will be held March 21, 2018 and the Women’s Induction Banquet will be on April 28, 2018, both at the same location which is Primo Banquet Hall in Indianapolis.

Indiana was the first state to have a facility dedicated strictly to high school basketball. We continually receive praise from our visitors -- from Indiana and beyond -- drawing comparisons to or praise greater than the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in Massachusetts!

As with all facilities, the cost of operating, maintaining and now replacing parts of our building continue to rise. We have been very fortunate that our 27-year-old facility in New Castle is still in very good shape. But with age, there come added costs. Thanks to the generous support of our 2017 membership campaign, we have been able to recently upgrade our exhibit videos, update our Hoosier Hardwood photo exhibit and maintain our facility, including exterior brick & masonry replacement and painting the full exterior of the museum.

As part of our web site you may make online membership contributions or donations and our gift shop is available through the web site. Please see these items and plenty of Indiana basketball history at www.hoopshall.com.

Basketball has played a very important role in the lives of many Hoosiers. Your annual membership makes you part of the team that sustains our museum as the finest high school basketball museum in the world.

Please join by completing our online membership form here or print and return the attached membership form with your Tax Deductible gift (note the active coach membership rate of $25 is only available by brochure, not online). Be sure to check the benefits listed on the membership form. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the Hall.

Regards on behalf of the Membership Committee,

Roger Schroder, Co-Chairman
John Robbins, Co-Chairman
Steve Witty, IBCA Executive Director
