"Best of Indiana" Launched to Promote Top Players By Pat Aikman
If coaches want to promote their best players for post-season honors, to college recruiters and to the media, the IBCA now offers “Best in Indiana” on it's website. The new site is an effort to boost further involvement in the IBCA website and also bring attention to many of the state’s most outstanding freshman, sophomore, junior and senior boys and girls.

Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Award Recipients  
Each year the IBCA Board of Directors selects individuals from each of the three IBCA Districts to receive the Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Award. The award, named in honor of longtime Executive Director of the IBCA, are given to individuals who have provided meritorious service in the promotion of basketball in the state of Indiana.

School administrator, coach, referee, historian, author and hall of framer Herb Schwomeyer coined the phrase Hoosier Hysteria in 1970. Schwomeyer is the famed author that published nine editions of the book, Hoosier Hysteria.

Beginning this year, the IBCA, in conjunction with Northern State University, is offering coaches who attend the April 25 & 26 Spring Basketball Coaches Clinic an opportunity to earn college credit for recertification or as an elective for undergraduate or graduate degree credit.

IBCA/IHSAA Boys' and Girls' Basketball Top 100 Showcase  
The sixth annual IBCA/IHSAA Boys' Basketball Top 100 Showcase will be held at Ben Davis High School on Saturday afternoon, April, 26th, beginning at 2:00 PM. The IBCA/IHSAA Girls' Basketball Showcase will be held at Ben Davis High School on Saturday, July 12th beginning at 9:00 AM. All IBCA members will be admitted free to both events by displaying an IBCA membership card.

Sixty of Indiana’s best 2007-2008 senior boys’, as well as 60 of Indiana’s best senior girls’ high school players will be invited to participate in Hoosier Basketball’s 2008 Top 60 Workouts held in conjunction with the IHSAA and the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
