Coaches vs. Cancer to Hold Celebration “Basket Ball” Event this spring with the NCAA Final Four in town  
There’ll be a dramatically new twist in place when the 2009-2010 IBCA Coaches vs. Cancer campaign kicks off in January, according to Ben Risinger, Community Representative for the American Cancer Society.

All-Star Attendance Up 13% By Charlie Hall
I want to thank the IBCA and Steve Witty for all of their help with the 2009 Indiana Kentucky All-Star games. We had a surge in attendance of 13 percent over the previous year. This would not have happened without the efforts of the Coaches' Association and Steve.

Junior Mannies and Marion Crawley Scholarship Awards Increased From $500 to $750  
During these difficult economic times, the IBCA is happy to announce that in order to provide more financial support for the families of selected scholarship winners the IBCA scholarship amounts have been increased from $500.00 to $750.00. IBCA Junior Mannies and Marion Crawley Scholarships in the amount of $750.00 each were awarded last spring to deserving young people who helped perpetuate our great game of basketball in Indiana.

2009-10 National Federation of High School Basketball Rule Changes  
While there are not many rule changes for the upcoming season, the NFHS Basketball Rules Committee did pass a significant change designed to assist administrators and officials in determining the outcome of games during state high school basketball championships.

Hoosier Basketball Magazine Hosts Annual Top 60 Senior Boys' and Girls' Workouts at Marian University By Garry Donna
Sixty of Indiana’s best 2009-2010 senior boys, as well as 60 of Indiana’s best senior girls high school players will be invited to participate in Hoosier Basketball’s 2010 Top 60 Workouts held in conjunction with the IHSAA and the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association at Marian University.

40th Year of Hoosier Basketball Magazine By Garry Donna
The 40th annual issue of Hoosier Basketball Magazine has a target publication date of mid November 2009. Included again will be a complete schedule section. It includes all boys’ and girls’ high school teams, all men’s and women’s college squads plus the NBA Indiana Pacers--over 850 in all.

Over 1200 coaches were in attendance at the 2009 IBCA clinic. The speakers were entertaining and informative. Over 50 vendors displayed their products. It also provided an opportunity for fellowship among those coaches in attendance. It was good to see so many coaches that are students of the game. View Pictures
