2020 Coaching ‘Milestone’ Award registration form

If you reached 100 victories, 200 victories, 300 victories or another Century "Milestone" number of coaching victories, please log into the Members-Only Section of the IBCA website. Once there, go to the "Member Hub" and look at the list of items in the right column. Once there, click on the fourth line labeled "Century Awards," complete the form and make sure you click on "submit" when you finish the form.

IBCA initiative against cancer

As our spring 2020 e-Newsletter goes “live,” with some schools not yet reporting, participating schools have reported raising $111,384 for the current school year. This year’s efforts bring the 13-year total of money raised to fight cancer to more than $1,137,000 through the 2019-2020 season.

2019-2020 Boys Coaches of the Year

Congratulations to the 2019-2020 Bob King Award winners as Boys' Coaches of the Year.

2019-20 Girls Coaches of the Year

Congratulations to the 2019-2020 Bob King Award winners as Girls' Coaches of the Year.

2020 Assistant Coaches of the Year

Jim Brothers of North Putnam and J.R. Moffatt of Hamilton Heights are the IBCA Assistant Coaches of the Year. This is the third year that the IBCA has presented awards in this category.

2020 PGC Transformational Coach Award

RaNae Isaak of Columbus North and Jim Merlie of Speedway are winners of the Point Guard College Transformational Coach Awards as presented by the IBCA.

2020 Roy Gardner Award

Jay Slater of Sullivan is the winner of the 2020 Roy Gardner Award.

2020 Mildred Ball Award

Gary Wier of Plainville is the winner of the 2020 Mildred Ball Award.

2020 Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Awards

Jim Peters, Mike Carmin and Gordon Engelhardt are winners of the 2020 Virgil Sweet Awards. The award, named in honor of the former Executive Director of the IBCA, is given to individuals who have provided meritorious service in the promotion of basketball in the state of Indiana.

2020 Administrators of the Year

Congratulations to these Administrators of the Year -- Stacy Adams, Shane Osting and Tim Grove.

2020 Coaches’ Roundtable participants

A roundtable of former coaches is one of the items planned for the 2020 IBCA Clinic. This year’s panel features Charles Mair, Dave Nicholson and Virgil Sweet.

IBCA/Subway Senior and Underclass Boys All-State

Fifteen players were chosen “Supreme 15,”15 more were chosen Large School All-State and 15 more were chosen Small School All-State for both Senior and Underclass players in the IBCA/Subway All-State program for boys. In addition, 89 seniors and 93 underclass players received Honorable Mention All-State accolades.

IBCA/Subway Senior and Underclass Girls All-State

Fifteen players were chosen “Supreme 15,” 15 more seniors and 15 more underclass players were chosen Large School All-State and 15 more seniors and 15 more underclass players were chosen Small School All-State in the IBCA/Subway All-State program for girls. In addition, 87 seniors and 92 underclass players received Honorable Mention All-State accolades.

2020 Boys Academic All-State

Forty-one players were chosen as first-team selections on the IBCA 2020 Boys' Academic All-State Team. An additional 195 players were selected as honorable mention Academic All-State.

2020 Girls Academic All-State

Thirty-two players were chosen as first-team selections on the IBCA 2020 Girls' Academic All-State Team. An additional 190 players were selected as honorable mention Academic All-State.

IBCA/Subway Players of the Week

Ninety-two student-athletes were named IBCA/Subway Players of the Week during the 2019-2020 season. Those selected – 42 boys and 50 girls – will receive a certificate of recognition of their honor from the IBCA and Subway Restaurants of Indiana.

Indiana All-Stars By Mike Broughton

Senior games, Junior games and All-Star Shootout called off for June 2020. Plans are for all the All-Star events to resume in 2021.

Indiana-Kentucky Challenge Cup

The seventh annual Indiana-Kentucky Challenge Cup was played on Dec. 14 at two sites – Scott County High School and Great Crossing High School, both located in Georgetown, Ky.

Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame By Chris May

Spring without basketball has been odd, and we look forward to a return to normal as soon as possible. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Awards Banquet ceremonies – originally scheduled for March and April – have been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15 (men’s) and Saturday, Oct. 17 (women’s).

Basketball Camp Insurance

If you are a current-year IBCA member, you have $2 million general liability insurance through our affiliation with NOCAD. This insurance covers you in the classroom or while working at youth sports camps and/or conducting your own personal camp.

IBCA/IHSAA summer individual & team events

Underclass Showcase events set for June 19 (girls) and June 20 (boys); boys' Summer Team Tournament planned for June 26-28.

Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 Senior Workouts By Kip Wesner

Hoosier Basketball’s Girls Top 60 Senior Workout was held March 8 at Heritage Christian; Hoosier Basketball's Boys Top 60 Senior Workout has been postponed (and ultimately may be canceled for this year).

32nd annual North/South Indiana All-Star Classic at Heritage Hills By Kip Wesner

Hoosier Basketball Magazine and Heritage Hills High School have made a joint decision to cancel the 2020 North/South Indiana All-Star Classic because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indiana High School Record Book (boys only) By Gene Milner

The Basketball Record Book has statistics on nearly every high school boys' program in the state of Indiana — 400-plus schools.
