IBCA proposals to the IHSAA  
The IBCA has made two proposals to the IHSAA. One proposal involves a possible change to the state tournament format. The second proposal involves the length of quarters for JV games.

IBCA initiative against cancer  
Thanks to all coaches, teams, schools and dedicated community members who have participated in the sixth annual IBCA initiative against cancer. So far, participating schools have reported raising $71,849 this season.

2014 Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Awards  
Each year the IBCA Board of Directors selects individuals from each of the three IBCA Districts to receive the Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Award. The award, named in honor of the longtime former Executive Director of the IBCA, is given to individuals who have provided meritorious service in the promotion of basketball in the state of Indiana.

IBCA/Subway Senior and Underclass Boys All-State  
Fifteen players were chosen as first-team selections for the IBCA/Subway Senior All-State Team for boys, and 15 others were chosen first-team IBCA/Subway Underclass All-State for boys.

Fifteen players were chosen as first-team selections for the IBCA/Subway Senior All-State Team for girls, and 15 others were chosen first-team IBCA/Subway Underclass All-State for girls.

Boys Academic All-State  
Thirty-three players were chosen as first-team selections on the IBCA 2014 Boys' Academic All-State Team. An additional 135 players were selected as honorable mention Academic All-State.

Girls Academic All-State  
Thirty-six players were chosen as first-team selections on the IBCA 2014 Girls' Academic All-State Team. An additional 107 players were selected as honorable mention Academic All-State.

IBCA/Subway Players of the Week  
More than 90 student-athletes were named IBCA/Subway Players of the Week during the 2013-14 season. Those selected – 48 boys and 44 girls – will receive a certificate of recognition of their honor from the IBCA and Subway Restaurants of Indiana.

It’s that time of year again. We are working on putting together the 2014 edition of the All-Star series with Kentucky. We are coming off our best crowd in the past six years.

Indiana-Kentucky Challenge Cup  
A new item on the IBCA calendar in 2013-14 was the Indiana-Kentucky Challenge Cup, a five-game event between teams from Indiana and Kentucky. The event was coordinated by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.

This past year has been an outstanding one for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as we have been involved with events that have furthered the knowledge, interest and love of Indiana high school basketball.

The 12th annual IBCA/IHSAA Top 100 Showcase events will be July 23 for girls and July 24 for boys, both at Ben Davis High School.

Sixty of Indiana’s best class of 2014 senior boys’ and senior girls’ high school players were invited to participate in Hoosier Basketball’s 2014 Top 60 Workouts held annually in conjunction with the IHSAA and the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Hoosier Basketball Magazine announces that the 26th annual North/South Indiana All-Star Classic will be held Sunday, April 13, at Vincennes University.

The Historic HOOSIER GYM Committee of Knightstown, Indiana, in conjunction with Hoosier Basketball Magazine and Pacesetter Sports of Terre Haute, will host the ninth annual Hoosiers’ Reunion All-Star Classic on Friday, June 6, 2014.

Indiana to participate in National Rising Senior Academy  
The National High School Basketball Coaches Association will sponsor a National Rising Senior Academy on July 13, 14 and 15 at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. Various states across the nation will be selecting teams of juniors from their states to participate in this event.
