In the first five years of this initiative, boys’ and girls’ coaches across Indiana raised nearly $500,000. In 2011-12 coaches, teams and communities stepped up to raise $113,000.

From the end of last season through late September, 165 people have been hired as new varsity basketball coaches in Indiana high schools -- 79 to boys basketball positions and 86 to girls basketball positions -- for the 2012-13 season.

New NCAA Division I academic requirements for Class of 2016
The NCAA has released an SAT/ACT sliding scale that corresponds with the increased GPA requirements for the class of 2016 and beyond. Any current high school freshman who is even remotely considering the possibility of playing a sport collegiately needs to pay attention.
