2017 Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Awards  
Each year the IBCA Board of Directors selects individuals from each of the three IBCA Districts to receive the Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Award. The award, named in honor of the longtime former Executive Director of the IBCA, is given to individuals who have provided meritorious service in the promotion of basketball in the state of Indiana.

2017 Coaches’ Roundtable participants  
A roundtable of former coaches is one of the items planned for the 2017 IBCA Spring Clinic. This year’s panel features a trio of coaches – John Heaton, Wayne Kreiger and Don Lostutter – who will offer their expertise on building programs that stand the test of time.

IBCA/Subway Senior and Underclass Boys All-State  
Fifteen players were chosen “Supreme 15”, 16 more were chosen Large School All-State (because of a tie in voting) and 15 more were chosen Small School All-State for both Senior and Underclass players in the IBCA/Subway All-State program for boys.

IBCA/Subway Senior and Underclass Girls All-State  
Fifteen players were chosen “Supreme 15”, 15 more were chosen Large School All-State and 15 more were chosen Small School All-State for both Senior and Underclass players in the IBCA/Subway All-State program for girls. In addition, 86 seniors and 85 underclass players received Honorable Mention All-State accolades.

Boys Academic All-State  
Forty players were chosen as first-team selections on the IBCA 2017 Boys' Academic All-State Team. An additional 156 players were selected as honorable mention Academic All-State.

Girls Academic All-State  
Thirty-nine players were chosen as first-team selections on the IBCA 2017 Girls' Academic All-State Team. An additional 161 players were selected as honorable mention Academic All-State.

IBCA/Subway Players of the Week  
Ninety-nine student-athletes were named IBCA/Subway Players of the Week during the 2016-17 season. Those selected – 53 boys and 46 girls – will receive a certificate of recognition of their honor from the IBCA and Subway Restaurants of Indiana.

Indiana All-Stars By Charlie Hall
The 2016 IndyStar Indiana All-Star Games with Kentucky drew a 12-year best crowd of 6,851 to Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Moving forward, the 2017 games are coming together as we speak.

Indiana-Kentucky Challenge Cup  
The fourth Indiana-Kentucky Challenge Cup was played Jan. 7 at New Castle Fieldhouse. The event is a five-game competition between teams from Indiana and Kentucky, coordinated by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.

The 15th annual IBCA/IHSAA Top 100 Showcase events will be July 11 for girls and July 12 for boys, both at Ben Davis High School.

Sixty of Indiana’s best class of 2017 senior boys’ and senior girls’ high school players were invited to participate in Hoosier Basketball’s 2017 Top 60 Workouts held annually in conjunction with the IHSAA and the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Hoosier Basketball Magazine announces that the 29th annual North/South Indiana All-Star Classic will be held Sunday, April 9, at the Berry Bowl in Logansport.
